via SARS eFilingSARS eFiling is a secure electronic tax return and payment submission service offered by SARS, free of charge, which removes the risks and hassles of submitting manual tax returns and payments. via the InternetPayment may be made via the internet banking facilities of ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank, or Standard Bank by simply using the standard drop-down listing of pre-loaded beneficiary IDs provided by the bank. All SARS beneficiary IDs are prefixed with the naming convention “SARS- <Tax Type>”. All internet payments must be correctly referenced to ensure that SARS is able identify your payment and correctly allocate it to your tax account. You will not be able to make a payment if your reference is incorrect.

via Debit OrderThe debit order payment mechanism may be accessed: • electronically via SARS eFiling, or • on submission of your VAT201 return if you have authorised SARS with a debit order.

over the counter at any ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank, or Standard Bank branchPayment may be made over the counter at any ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank, or Standard Bank branch country wide by merely quoting the appropriate beneficiary ID.
- As in the case of internet payments, all bank payments must be correctly referenced. You will not be able to make a payment if your reference is incorrect

at any SARS Branch Office: over the counter or via mail
Payment may be made during office hours at the Cash Hall of the respective Tax or Customs Branch Office. For ease of processing, taxpayers / traders should ensure that the tax form / payment advice is attached to all payments indicating the tax reference number, tax type and tax period.
From outside the borders of South Africa
- Payments can be made electronically into SARS’ FNB bank account using the standard SWIFT 103 message and the Beneficiary ID / Account Number “SARS-FOR-999”.
