FAQ: I attempted to submit documents on SOQS, but the upload was unsuccessful. What should I do?

Submission of documents on SOQS is permitted only after a formal request to submit supporting documents has been issued.

FAQ: Which changes must be reported to SARS after I’m registered/licensed and by when?

If you cease the licensed/registered activity, no longer meet qualifying conditions or any other legal entity changes, you must notify SARS within 7 working days.

FAQ: Must I keep my approval letter/licence on site?

Yes. Approval letters and certificates must be kept on licensed premises and shown upon request.

FAQ: Which supporting documents are required for my application?

Document requirements differ per client type and are listed in SARS’s Documentary Requirements Annexure. .        

FAQ: What should I do if I submitted the incorrect application and need to reapply for the correct client type? (Importer/Exporter/Storage warehouse).

Withdraw the incorrect application and submit the correct one. Branch assistance is available if the system prevents resubmission.

FAQ: My Customs code is not showing on RLA. What should I do?

Customs code might be suspended. Contact [email protected].

FAQ: How can I resolve a blank screen issue after accessing my eFiling profile?

Remove the space before your username to access your profile.

FAQ: How to obtain Advance Payment Notification (APN)?

APN can be activated through E-filling. Any APN related questions must be directed to [email protected].

FAQ: How long does it take for trader requested changes or updates to reflect on the SARS system?

The changes/ updates will reflect once the application has gone through the necessary verification and approved (Maximum 21 working days).

FAQ: How to amend VAT and Duty limit?

Amendment of VAT and Duty limits must be made under the ‘Client type’ and not under the ‘Product’.
