The R21.33 billion deficit for October 2014 is due to exports of R89.00 billion and imports of R110.32 billion. Exports decreased from September to October by R1.63 billion (-1.8%) and imports increased from September to October by R16.65 billion (17.8%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R95.11 billion compared to R73.08 billion in 2013.

31 October 2014 – Trade Statistics for September 2014

The R2.91 billion deficit for September 2014 is due to exports of R90.79 billion and imports of R93.71 billion. Exports increased from August to September 2014 by R14.00 billion (18.2%) and imports increased from August to September 2014 by R0.17 billion (0.2%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R73.74 billion compared to R63.07 billion in 2013.

30 September 2014 – Trade Statistics for August 2014

The R16.30 billion deficit for August 2014 can be attributed to exports of R77.24 billion and imports of R93.53 billion. Exports decreased from July to August by R8.19 billion (9.6%) and imports increased from July to August by R1.28 billion (1.4%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R70.74 billion compared to R51.88 billion in 2013.

29 August 2014 – Trade Statistics for July 2014

The R6.88 billion deficit for July 2014 can be attributed to exports of R85.37 billion and imports of R92.26 billion. Exports increased from June to July by R5.40 billion (6.8%) and imports increased from June to July by R11.82 billion (14.7%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R55.49 billion compared to R41.11 billion in 2013.

8 March 2018 – SARS reaches R3,3-billion mark in SVDP

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is pleased to announce that under the Special Voluntary Disclosure Programme (SVDP), non-compliant taxpayers with unauthorised foreign assets and income have to date entered into agreements with SARS to the value of over R3,3-billion in tax liabilities.
