4 September 2024 – SARS invites you to a webinar on 5 September 2024 on Empowering Women and Persons with Disabilities in trade:

  • Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities;
  • Department of Small Business Development through;
  • Small Enterprise Development Agency;
  • SheTradesZA;
  • Small Enterprise Finance Agency; and

SARS and partner stakeholders recognise the role played by women entrepreneurs in the informal trade sector towards job creation, income generation, and the reduction of wealth inequalities. SARS acknowledges that some of the small, medium and micro enterprise (SMME) traders, women and PWDs, require clarity and awareness regarding:

  • Tax compliance requirements;
  • Channels for lodging complaints;
  • Accessing the markets and information regarding available funding;
  • Expenses that can be claimed against income received (allowable deductions); and
  • The Traveller Management System and cross-border clearance process.

This initiative is in line with SARS’s strategic objectives of providing taxpayers and traders with clarity and certainty, as well as making it easy for them to comply with their tax obligations. In addition, working with and through stakeholders to improve the tax ecosystem with specific focus on the challenges outlined above. As an important stakeholder, SARS invites you to join this webinar, and to extend this invitation to other interested parties.
