Legal Counsel – Secondary Legislation – Tariff Amendments 2022

14 July 2022 – Customs & Excise Act, 1962: The tariff amendment notices, scheduled for publication in the Government Gazette, relate to the –

  • imposition of provisional payment in relation to anti-dumping duties against the alleged dumping of frozen potato chips originating in or imported from Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands – ITAC Report 696 (up to and including 14 January 2023); and

the amendments to –

  • Part 2 of Schedule No. 3 by the substitution of items 260.03/7318.15.41/01.08; 260.03/7318.15.42/01.08 and 260.03/7318.16.30/01.08 in order to include imports originating in or imported from Belarus, Indonesia and Turkey – ITAC Minute M09/2021 (up to and including 23 July 2022);
  • Part 2 of Schedule No. 3 by the substitution of items 260.03/7318.15.41/01.08; 260.03/7318.15.42/01.08 and 260.03/7318.16.30/01.08 in order to include imports originating in or imported from Belarus, Indonesia and Turkey – ITAC Minute M09/2021 (with effect from 24 July 2022 up to and including 23 July 2023); and
  • Part 2 of Schedule No. 4 by the insertion of various items under rebate item 460.15 in order to provide for a temporary rebate provisions for the importation of primary flat steel products classifiable in tariff headings 72.08, 72.09, 72.10, 72.11, 72.12, 7225.1, 7225.99 and 7226.9  – ITAC Report No. 667.
