Pretoria, 11 October 2016 – SARS wishes to inform taxpayers that its tax and customs offices will close at 17:00 on Friday 14 October 2016 due to a substantial IT system upgrade and maintenance.
But to minimize disruptions SARS employees in all branches throughout the country will be available to assist taxpayers until 17:00.
As a result, SARS wishes to advise taxpayers to visit SARS branches before 15:00.
Taxpayers, traders and the general public are asked to take note that due to the IT system upgrade and maintenance eFiling will also be intermittently unavailable from 17:00 until 21:30 on the 14 October 2016.
As Tax Season is currently in full swing, every effort will be made to assist taxpayers who visit SARS branches. Taxpayers, who are still in queues at our branches will, however, only be assisted until 17:00 on Friday.
