20 November 2016 – SARS Customs busts 10.4kg cocaine valued at R2.9-m

Pretoria, Sunday 20 November 2016 – SARS Customs officials intercepted a female passenger from Brazil with 10.405kg cocaine worth R2 993 519.00 at OR Tambo International Airport yesterday.
She was traveling to Maputo in Mozambique and claimed that she did not check in any luggage.
The passenger was escorted to the Customs inspection area where it was found that she had checked in luggage with nine handbags that carried narcotics.
The woman has been handed over to SA Police Service for investigation and prosecution.
