24 October 2016 – SARS detector dog bust 8kg cocaine at OR Tambo

Pretoria, 24 October 2016 – SARS Customs inspectors in the detector dog unit intercepted a female passenger from Sao Paolo with 8kg of cocaine in a suitcase estimated at R2.3-million at OR Tambo International Airport yesterday.
The traveller’s luggage was scanned and 5 handbags lined with secret compartments were found inside one of the two suitcases after the dog reacted positively to the bag.
The female passenger with the 8kg cocaine valued at R2 301 600. 00 was handed to SA Police Service for further investigation and possible prosecution
