28 May 2016 – Crystal meth worth R7 560 000 million intercepted at OR Tambo

Pretoria, 28 May 2016 – SARS Customs officials intercepted 25kg of crystal methamphetamine valued at R7,5 Million at OR International Airport last night.
The bust was made during an inspection of a flight from Cotonou (Benin, West Africa). All unaccompanied bags were escorted to the SARS Customs search area for scanning where 25 plastic bags containing a white substance was found in one of the bags.
The substance tested positive for crystal methamphetamine, weighing 25,20 kg worth a street value of R7 560 000.
