20 February 2018 – Over R18 million worth of crystal meth nabbed at ORTIA
Customs officials of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) made two drugs busts at OR Tambo International Airport this past week seizing crystal meth valued at over R18 million.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) today releases trade statistics that includes trade data with Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland (BLNS) for December 2013 that recorded a trade surplus of R2.78 billion [trade deficit R4.31 billion].

A sting operation at the port of Durban by SARS Customs officials and the Hawks has led to the seizure of 1.6 tons of illegally harvested frozen abalone valued at R2.37 million.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is pleased to announce that it has crossed the psychological threshold of the one-trillion rand mark in its revenue collection efforts.
28 November 2014 – Trade Statistics for October 2014
The R21.33 billion deficit for October 2014 is due to exports of R89.00 billion and imports of R110.32 billion. Exports decreased from September to October by R1.63 billion (-1.8%) and imports increased from September to October by R16.65 billion (17.8%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R95.11 billion compared to R73.08 billion in 2013.

31 October 2014 – Trade Statistics for September 2014
The R2.91 billion deficit for September 2014 is due to exports of R90.79 billion and imports of R93.71 billion. Exports increased from August to September 2014 by R14.00 billion (18.2%) and imports increased from August to September 2014 by R0.17 billion (0.2%). The cumulative deficit for 2014 is R73.74 billion compared to R63.07 billion in 2013.
