Mitchells Plain is one of South Africa’s largest townships with a population of about 290,000 people. It is located about 32 km from the city of Cape Town, on the Cape Flats on the False Bay coast between Muizenberg and Khayelitsha. This is one of the reasons why SARS has decided to increase its reach in the area, by opening a new branch. Also making it easy for taxpayers to comply and assist in the facilitation of trade in the area.

Staff at the Mitchells Plain branch is proficient in English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa and isiZulu. The branch is situated in the Liberty Promenade Shopping Centre, AZ Berman Drive, Mitchells Plain, which has sufficient parking for taxpayers. Operating hours are between 08h00 and 16h00 during weekdays, with Wednesday opening an hour later due to staff training. Peak hour ranges from 07h00 to 08h30 and 11h00 to 15h00. There are a variety of restaurants, coffee and take-away shops at the mall. We do have adequate building facilities to accommodate for persons with disabilities and serious medical conditions. Pensioners also receive preferential status in the queue.
