1 March 2017 - Payments for financial year-end by Friday, 31 March 2017
Taxpayers who are making payments or submissions on 31 March 2017, are urged to do so by 12:00 midday. 
Payments or submissions received after their specified deadlines will be marked as late and may be liable for penalties and interest.

7 November 2016 - eFiling payments can now be made by SASFIN Bank clients
SARS has extended the eFiling payments to be done through SASFIN Bank. For detailed information on releasing the payment refer to SASFIN Bank step-by-step guidelines.
 
23 September 2016 - eFiling payments can now be made by HBZ Bank LTD clients
SARS has extended the eFiling payments to be done through HBZ Bank LTD. For detailed information on releasing the payment refer to HBZ Bank LTD step-by-step guidelines.
 
12 September 2016 - eFiling payments can now be made by Albaraka bank clients
SARS has extended the eFiling payments to be done through Albaraka bank. For detailed information on releasing the payment refer to Albaraka step-by-step guidelines.

29 August - eFiling payments can now be made by Mercantile bank clients
SARS has extended the eFiling payments to be done through Mercantile bank. For detailed information on releasing the payment refer to Mercantile step-by-step guidelines.

From 1 April 2016, manual forms of payments will no longer be accepted by SARS:
Payments will have to be done electronically or in the banks. This effort is undertaken to streamline operations and enhance efficiencies at SARS branches. Therefore, the 'Payments Queue' at SARS branches will cease to exist. In addition, no cheques (either posted or dropped off at SARS drop-boxes) will be accepted. Please note that this change excludes Customs. Taxpayers have the following existing options to make payments:
  • At your bank
  • Via eFiling
  • Via Electronic Funds Transfer  (EFT)

How do I pay?

Do you have outstanding taxes? Do you need help deciding what to do or whom to call?
 
Taxpayers, both individuals and businesses, are required to be fully tax compliant through on time submission of returns and payments, to avoid penalties and interest being charged.

Important - If the submission date falls on a weekend or public holiday, you need to submit the return/declaration together with your payment, if applicable, by the last business day before the weekend or public holiday.
 
In instances where taxpayers are not compliant and have outstanding tax debt, the Debt Management department is committed to assisting businesses and individuals to become fully compliant.

Top Tip: In addition to the available payment options, Customs payments can also be made at any SARS Customs office, for more information please read SARS Payment Rules.
 
If you need to change your banking details you can do it:
  • On eFiling of you’re a registered eFiler
  • In person at any SARS branch if you're not registered with eFiling, or
  • When completing and submitting your Income Tax Return for Individuals (ITR12).
